What is Church Growth?

Church growth refers to the increase in the number of members or attendees in a church congregation over a specific period. This metric helps church leaders track their outreach effectiveness and community engagement.

How to Use the Church Growth Calculator

  1. Enter the Current Number of Church Goers - the latest count of regular attendees
  2. Enter the Previous Number of Church Goers - the baseline count from an earlier period
  3. Click Calculate to see the percentage growth or decline

Church Growth Formula

The church growth percentage is calculated using:

$$\text{Church Growth} = \frac{\text{Current} - \text{Previous}}{\text{Previous}} \times 100$$

The result is expressed as a percentage.

Where:

  • Current = Current number of church goers
  • Previous = Previous number of church goers

Example Calculation

If a church currently has 1,200 attendees and previously had 900 attendees:

$$\text{Church Growth} = \frac{1{,}200 - 900}{900} \times 100 = \frac{300}{900} \times 100 = 33.33$$

The church experienced a 33.33% growth in attendance.
