How to Calculate Barbed Wire Weight

The weight of barbed wire is calculated using the formula:

Weight = Weight per Unit Length × Total Length

Wire Size Weight Specifications

Different wire sizes have different weights per foot:

  • 2×2 wire: 0.082 lbs/ft
  • 13×13 wire: 0.0974 lbs/ft
  • 12×12 wire: 0.110 lbs/ft
  • 14×14 wire: 0.062 lbs/ft

Example Calculation

For 12×12 wire at 400 feet:

$$\text{Weight} = 0.110 \text{ lbs/ft} \times 400 \text{ ft} = 44 \text{ lbs}$$
